Alternative Minds Foundation, Inc. (“AMF”) was borne in 2004 out of the need for innovative educational projects in the bay area that incorporate artistic expression, cultural diversity, and that appealed to a variety of learning styles.

The founders of AMF, attorney/artist, Jora Trang, and educator/artist, Naru Kwina, combined their skills to offer consulting to multiple bay area artists, artist collectives, and non-profit organizations to design, develop, and implement educational projects that highlighted artistic freedom and expression. Projects were selected primarily for their ability to address issues of access to education and art for disenfranchised communities.
